The fine art of pastries and cakes

Bakery Hill, located inside the Midwest Culinary Institute, is a magnet for customers: students, staff, and visitors to the College. Few have the willpower to pass the delicious aromas and goodies without stopping to buy a doughnut or other sweet treat—many of them made by MCI students. What's more, Bakery Hill is also a cafe, offering yummy homemade soups, salads, and specialty lunch items at reasonable prices.

 Creative cakes for the public

As a retail outlet, Bakery Hill has become renowned publicly for its luscious, beautiful wedding cakes and highly creative celebration and specialty cakes. Each cake is a custom design to meet the needs of a discriminating clientele.

Moe Thie, former owner of Virginia Bakery, heads the Bakery Hill cake department. She comes to Midwest Culinary Institute with over 15 years of experience in creating memorable wedding cakes, as lovely as they are delicious. A certified decorator, Moe frequently serves as a judge for national cake competitions.

At Bakery Hill, we offer wedding cakes, grooms cakes,  birthday and anniversary cakes,  cakes for graduation and other celebrations, and specialty cakes. We also accept orders for pies, petit fours, cupcakes, bread, and other pastries.
